Call for Erasmus Internships at Doclisboa’24 – International Film Festival
In 2024, Doclisboa is back with its 22nd edition – between 17 and 27 October. We believe in the strength of documentary and in Doclisboa as a fundamental space in the consolidation of cinema as part of the city’s culture. Offering a programme that triggers reflection on important and global issues, we focus on international and world premieres from all over the world.
Hundreds of guests and a diverse public are present and bring their energy and experience to the festival, engaged with moments of reflection and debate around the complexity of the present time, the intimate and daily life of each place to a broad constellation. In Portugal, Doclisboa works with local cultural entities throughout the year, in an effort to decentralize access to cinema. At the same time, works with international partners for a more sustainable, egalitarian and conscious world.
In this cenarium, we believe in the added value of an international internship at a pioneering and far-reaching festival as Doclisboa – which for more than two decades has been building one of the main platforms for the dissemination of documentary and auteur cinema in Portugal, and which today is more than a film festival, growing as a plural and vibrant space that fosters creation.
Doclisboa’23 programmed 237 films and its majority were followed by Q&A’s with a festival programmer and a film team member (usually the director). Also an important part of Doclisboa is Nebulae (networking space), which brings together activities, opportunities and people dedicated to the development of creation, production and dissemination of independent cinema: ARCHÉ – Professional Activities Laboratory; Directing Seminar – Dialogues on new forms of documentary cinema; Debate and Analysis of a topic in the film industry; Invited Country – each edition of Nebulae will have a guest country (will be Spain in 2024), as well as its film professionals; Consulting Sessions; Constellations – Round Table Program and Masterclasses; Lounge. And, of course, our cocktails and parties!
This said, we consider it is a unique opportunity to understand the functioning of this structure and to have an in-depth notion of the universe of cultural management/production.This year we want to receive who is interested in the following departments:
- programme
- guest office
- invitations and accreditations
- jury monitoring
- industry
