In collaboration with the Vroman Foundation, the Jan van Eyck Academie is offering a 6-month residency programme to an (inter)national artist, writer or a designer whose research falls within the intersection of art and science and who carries an inquisitive approach towards interdisciplinary thinking.

Residency period is between 1 November 2022 – 30 April 2023. Application deadline is on 1 May 2022, 23:59 CEST.

In the spirit of polymath Leo Vroman (1915 – 2014), this residency programme accommodates one Fellow with a chance to further develop their research and projects using all Jan van Eyck facilities at hand: its labs – Photography & Audiovisual, Printing & Publishing, Food, Material Matters, Future Materials –, departments – Nature Research, Research & Education and Art & Society –, as well as the Library. The selected participant will also be able to network and collaborate with fellow participants as well as gather expertise from the academy’s guests, advisers, and staff members.

The Fellow will receive access to a private studio, a monthly stipend of € 1 000, a working budget of € 1091, as well as accommodation for the duration of the residency period.
