FeKK – Ljubljana Short Film Festival
Submissions are now open for the competition programs of the 12th edition of FeKK – Ljubljana Short Film Festival.
Between 17 and 22 August, Ljubljana will once again come alive with the spirit of short film. The 12th edition of FeKK – Ljubljana Short Film Festival has now opened its call for submissions to the competition programmes and invites filmmakers to become part of one of the main festivals dedicated to the short film form in the wider region.
The central part of the festival features screenings of short films, presented in several carefully curated thematic programmes that offer audiences a diverse festival experience. FeKK includes three competition sections that form the core of the festival.
1. FeKK SLO presents the latest Slovenian short films and highlights the diversity and boldness of national production. The single and final deadline for submission is 1 May 2026, fees excluded.
2. FeKK BAL focuses on recent short film productions from Southeast Europe, bringing together works from the wider Balkan region, including Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, and Serbia, with Cyprus and Moldova joining for the first time this year. With similar production conditions and a shared recent history, these films offer diverse yet interconnected authorial perspectives that have significantly enriched the FeKK programme for the sixth consecutive year.

3. A brand new short film competition for children FeKKids, featuring carefully selected films from around the world. Open to all countries internationally, the program is divided into age groups and aims to provide young audiences with an engaging, accessible, and age-appropriate festival experience. The application fee is €4, with a single final deadline, 1 May 2026.
