Application Form PARALELO 2019

Núcleo de Artes Performativas is a dance company co-founded by 9 Azorean dancers in order to innovate and energize the Azorean culture, through the development of dance projects which approach and includes other artistic areas. For 2019, we will organize the second edition of Paralelo Dance Festival in the city of Ponta Delgada. It will have an interdisciplinary program, which main intention is to engage and highlights different dance forms and genres, circuits between spaces, happenings and gather a wide range of audience/public. The program will count with classes, talks/lectures, vídeo and performances and will happen on October 2019.
We are looking for dance projects in different formats: Performances, Site-Specifics, Dance Film among others proposals. It is also requested that the creators apply for one or more proposals of classes that will be integrated in the program of the Festival.

REGULATION

MISSION, GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
• Within the application process for Paralelo Dance festival 2019 the following objectives stand out: Offer equal opportunity and engage artists, nationals or international, of different dance genres and backgrounds; Support all the artistic creative process and production; Promotion of the work of the selected artists; Create new opportunities for social and cultural interaction; Promote all the artists and their respective projects throughout the duration of the festival; Support the travel and accommodation expenses as well cachet for the artist work.

CANDIDATES

• Dance, Performance, Theater, Circus Arts and Video;
• Arts that incorporate body, movement and voice

SELECTION PROCESS

• Only applications that are received before the deadline and that fulfill the requirements asked in the application form, will be admitted;
• All applications will be analysed and evaluated by the Festival team;
• Every member of the team is obliged to act in a neutral and impartial manner, following ethics and professionalism;
• The Festival team has full autonomy in establishing the best and efficient methodology in order to evaluate and analyse the submitted applications.

DISCLOSURE OF RESULTS

• All applications that won´t be selected for the Festival Programme, will be notified via email;
• The final decision of selected candidates will be sent directly via email to those selected and shared on the Festival’s website and Facebook page.

APPLICATION SUBMISSION

• The deadline for the application is the 30th of November 2018;
• Any proposal submitted after the deadline of the open call won’t be considered.

GENERAL PROVISIONS

• Paralelo Dance Festival declines any responsibility in case there is violation of intellectual property, or author rights that might occur in the artist’s pieces during the festival;
• Once accepted, the candidate agrees to sign a contract with Paralelo 38 Cultural Association. This contract has to be signed 60 days before the candidate’s arrival;
• By participating in the festival the artist is accepting and following all provisions stated in this regulation.

DATES AND DEADLINE

• Applications deadline November 30th 2018;
• Evaluation process :1st till the 31st of December 2018;
• Disclosure of selected candidates: 1st till the 15th of January 2019
