The international call for recent, contemporary dancefilms, made during the past two years (2019-2021) is open now to all filmmakers, choreographers and visual artists.

The festival „l’art difficile de filmer la danse” focuses on the specific relationship between dance andfilm. The festival aims to be an international platform for choreographers, filmmakers and programmers
and has the ambition to promote a selection of dancefilms in Belgium and abroad.

For the selection of the recent dancefilms, the art of filming and the translation or fusion of the different disciplines to create an independent artistic cinematographic work will be considered.

The curators of the international dancefilmfestival Brussels l’art difficile de filmer la danse are Stefanie Bodien and Wolfgang Kolb.
The producer is Redorangeproductions in structural partnership with Danscentrumjette, CINEMATEK, Contredanse, CND (Paris). The Festival is supported by Vlaams Audiovisueel Fonds (VAF) and the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles.

The festival is spread over 4 days from September 29 to October 2, 2021:
Opening day, workshop & meeting day, historical dancefilm day and the recent dancefilm day

DEADLINE for submission is April 30, 2021
