Interships Erasmus + Doclisboa’23
In 2023 Doclisboa is back with its 21ª edition between 19 and 29 October; we believe in the strength of documentary films and in Doclisboa as a fundamental space in the consolidation of cinema as part of the city’s culture, offering a program that triggers reflection on important and global issues, with a focus on international and world premieres of films from all over the world. Hundreds of guests are present and bring their energy and experience to the festival that gathers a diverse public, engaged and committed with moments of encounter, reflection and debate that bring the complexity of the present time. Doclisboa collaborates with cultural entities throughout the year in an effort to decentralize access to cinema and internationally with different partners with whom we work for a more sustainable, egalitarian and conscious world.
In this cenarium, we believe that an internship at a pioneering and far-reaching festival such as Doclisboa – which for two decades has been building one of the main platforms for the dissemination of documentary and author cinema, and which today is more than a film festival, growing as a plural and vibrant space that fosters creation – is a great opportunity. Doclisboa in 2022 had 220 film screenings and 246 films, the 4th edition of Nebulae, a industry networking space, which brings together activities, opportunities and people dedicated to the development of creation, production and dissemination of independent cinema. This program includes ARCHÉ – Professional Activities Laboratory; Filmmaking Seminar; Consulting Sessions, Round Tables and Masterclasses, Happy Hours, cocktails and parties. This said, we consider it is a unique opportunity to understand the functioning of this structure and live to have an in-depth notion of the universe of cultural management/production.
This year we’d like to host one or two students interested in collaborating with our Guest Office and Industry department.
Nebulae – Industry Assistant
Duration: 1st of August to 1st of November (3 months)
Workplace: Apordoc / Doclisboa, Casa do Cinema, Rua da Rosa 277, 2º andar, 1200-385, Lisbon (PT)
Specifications: Within the industry team, supervise the invitation process: coordinate the invitations in contact with the hospitality team; take care of the industry guests and accompany them in their industry experience (onsite and online); collect screening and presentation materials (for pitching sessions, talks, round tables etc); process requests for individual meetings before and during the festival; manage the meeting space; participate in the whole organisation of the industry activities, together with the head of industry, Arché coordinator and industry coordinator.
Guest Office
Duration: 1 of September to 1st of November (2 months)
Workplace: Apordoc / Doclisboa, Casa do Cinema, Rua da Rosa 277, 2º andar, 1200-385, Lisbon (PT)
Specifications: Managing accreditations, help in travel planning and accommodation for filmmakers and industry guests. Receptions of guests and collaboration with hospitality. Supporting the Guest Office Coordinator with daily tasks.
