The LUX Audience Award Cinema Young Professionals programme offers an exciting opportunity for young professionals in the film industry.

The European Parliament/LUX Audience Award and Europa Cinemas will select one young professional per EU country through this open application process promoted among European cinemas from various exhibitors’ organisations.

The selected young cinema professionals will attend a fully funded programme in Strasbourg from Monday, September 16th, to Thursday, September 19th, 2024.

The programme will include informative sessions with key partners, stakeholders, and relevant film organisations (filmmakers, distributors, producers, critics, etc.) about the European Parliament and the Lux Audience Award.

By leveraging the passion and creativity of the selected young cinema professionals, the programme aims to elevate the profile of the LUX Audience Award and foster a greater appreciation and visibility of the selected films among audiences and film professionals.

Objectives:

Promote the LUX Audience Award: Increase awareness of the LUX Audience Award and its five nominated European films among audiences across the EU.

Engage Young Professionals: Provide opportunities for young professionals in the film industry to actively contribute to the promotion of European cinema.

Create Synergies to Strengthen European Cinema: Facilitate collaboration between national cinemas, European Parliament Liaison Offices, and local communities to enhance cultural dialogue and understanding.

The present call for applications is open only to candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Young professionals working in film theatres (programmers, marketing, communication, social media managers, film education or young audience development coordinators, etc.)
  • Aged up to 30 years old
  • Permanent employee of a cinema with a contract for the years 2024 and 2025

The deadline to apply is Sunday, July 7, 2024.
