In 1997, Nancy B. Negley restored the former residence of Dora Maar in the village of Ménerbes, Provence, transforming it into a retreat for scholars, artists, and writers. Today, the Dora Maar House Fellowship offers outstanding mid-career professionals one to two months of uninterrupted time to focus on their creative work in a historic eighteenth-century stone residence.
Fellows receive:
• Private room & bathroom in a shared house with gardens, library, and communal spaces
• Private studio or office (with easels, drawing benches, or piano for musicians)
• Weekly housekeeping and access to laundry
• A travel award covering average cost from hometown to Paris or Marseille
• Opportunities to engage with the local Ménerbes community through talks, salons, or workshops
Open to disciplines including: Visual Arts, Writing (all genres), Performance, Music, Film, Digital Media, Architecture, Art History, Philosophy, and more.
Note : $25 application fee. No residency fees.
