Sofia Meetings is looking for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd feature film projects, TV series in development, Projects based on books, and Works in Progress!
We also select projects of more established directors who are looking for partners in Southeastern Europe.
Requirements for feature film projects:
- Logline and Synopsis
- Script or Treatment
- Budget
- Financing Plan
- Director’s Notes
- Producer’s Notes
- Director’s CV
- CV of producer(s) and/or production company
- Links to previous films by the director
Requirements for TV series in development:
- 1–2-page pitch of the project
- Pilot treatment or script
- Series Bible (Characters, World, Season Overview)
- Dialogue Scene (script excerpt)
- Financing Plan
- Budget
- Teaser/Visuals (if available)
- Writer’s CV
- Producer’s CV
All materials for feature film projects and TV series in development must be submitted by email to sofiameetings@siff.bg no later than December 1th, 2025.
Works in Progress requirements:
- The film must be in a late stage of post-production or recently completed.
- The film must have a runtime of over 60 minutes.

- Head info: Director/Producer/Key creative team
- Running time
- Country of origin
- Stage of post-production
- What you are seeking at the co-production market
- Please send the full film, rough cut, or an excerpt of up to 20 minutes.
Works in Progress must be sent by email to sofiameetings@siff.bg no later than January 11th, 2025.
The 23rd Sofia Meetings will take place from March 18th to 22nd, 2026, within the framework of the 30th Sofia International Film Festival (March 12th–22nd, 2026).
Sofia Meetings is an event supported by the Creative Europe MEDIA sub-programme of the European Union, the EA Bulgarian National Film Center, and Sofia Municipality.
It consists of three distinct modules:
Feature Films Pitching – presentation of the director’s first, second, and third feature fiction film projects, seeking co-producers, sales, and distribution.
TV Series Pitching – presentation of TV series projects looking for co-producers.
Works in Progress – a showcase of films at various stages of post-production, presented to festival programmers, sales agents, distributors, exhibitors, and international press.
Sofia Meetings also presents an Industry Programme featuring various events—Industry Talks, Europa Distribution and Europa Cinemas Workshops, a VR/Transmedia Hub showcasing immersive interactive experiences, along with key speakers, panels, presentations, and numerous informal events.
More than 500 industry executives—including producers, distributors, representatives from film markets, sales companies, film funds, TV buyers, and other film professionals from around the world, as well as representatives from key film festivals and directors—come together in Sofia to discover new projects and films.
