We are looking for a talented video editor for a full time position, working remotely from your own premises.

Initial work requires to finalize the rough-cut edits of the first feature length documentary and collaborate in putting together rough cuts for the second and third feature. The project needs to match our directorial vision and be suitable for broadcasting in terms of quality. In line with our mission goal, the editing is to create maximal engagement and impact for our story.

Responsibilities:

To edit film segments according to the script and in a way that is invisible to the audience and dramatizes the scene’s intention
Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity
Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film
Work together with the audio engineer to match the music, the dialogues/ narration
Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running
Discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency.

Requirements:

Proven working experience in video editing
Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages – ideally working with Final Cut Pro, so we can share a common workflow, although we can accommodate Premiere and After Effects into it
Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio (MUST HAVE)
Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, continuity etc
Familiarity with special effects, 3D and compositing
Creative mind and storytelling skills
Bachelors degree in film studies, cinematography or related field

ADDITIONAL SKILLS: COLOR GRADING

Ideal, (although optional) is also having experience with color-grading, light editing adjustments and restoration of stock footage. One should be able to work well with Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro basic color tools, but more importantly, Da Vinci Resolve or Speedgrade or both.

IMPORTANT:

All Candidates need to submit an access to a portfolio of film editing (or grading) work done.
