The WE Program is committed to providing an international self-sustainable program, offering low-cost education opportunities (WE-Class), engaging movers in their creativity (WE-Open Call) and supporting the development of artistic projects (WE-Award).

The WE Program values an equitable, diverse, and inclusive world, which we interpret as all people having fair access to the tools and resources they need to fulfil creative and community endeavours. We acknowledge structural inequities that have excluded individuals and communities from opportunity based on race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, class, age, language, culture, and geography, and strive to counter those inequities in our work.

The WE Open-Call invites every month proposals from artists who want to take creative risks, explore new ideas, develop an educational project, create a new work, explore new styles and techniques, and more…

To be eligible:
• You’re over the age of 18.
• Dance or movement forms are a significant part of your project.

Important Informations:
• Application Materials must be completed in English.

• Selection Criteria | Project responses will be reviewed based on creativity & curiosity, feasibility of the proposed project, impact on the development of the artist and/or the community. Only those projects meeting the open call criteria will be reviewed.

• If selected, proof of age and identity will be required.

• A project does not have to be new. Existing projects may be just as competitive as new works.

• The jury is composed of 5 members from the movement community who alternate on each WE-Open Call.

• The recipient of the WE-Award will be announced two weeks after the submission’s deadline.

• Amount of the WE-Award: 1200€

Open call – The Tanzkongress 2022

In June 2022, the State Theatre of Mainz will be hosting the Dance Congress in cooperation with the Federal Cultural Foundation and the city of Mainz – with Honne Dohrmann as the Head of Programme and a large contribution of the entire company. The motto of the Dance Congress will be “Sharing Potentials”, festuring the role of the dancer and providing a platform for dance enthusiasts to exchange ideas, learn from one another and grow in the increasingly hybrid world of dance.

The 2022 congress was born out of the role of tanzmainz being a bridge between the independent scene and repertory theatres. Hybrid structures, venues and formats will be presented, discussed, scrutinised and reinvented. tanzmainz invites all dancers, rehearsal managers, company and theatre directors, producers and other dance enthusiasts to come together and exchange views from 16 to 19 June 2022.

Deadline for applications: The deadline for submissions is 31 May 2021

The Tanzkongress 2022 will take place in Mainz from 16 to 19 June 2022. Under the motto ‘Sharing Potentials’, Staatstheater Mainz together with the Federal Cultural Foundation invites you to share experiences, knowledge, ideas and also utopias with each other and to spend 4 eventful days in Mainz!

We ask everyone who wants to be part of it to send in proposals with topics, formats and ideas for the Tanzkongress 2022 and thus contribute to the programme.
