Between October and November 2023, Kyber Theatre organises in Cagliari (Italy) the 10° Edition of the International Theatre, Art and New Technologies Festival called “The Wonders of Possible”

LMDP Festival is the first of this kind in the whole Italy. Its aim is to promote the interrelation between artistic and technological languages.

Kyber Teatro – spin off of L’ Aquilone di Viviana (theatre and new technologies company, LMDP Festival creator and manager), addresses to Italian and International artists, emerging and not emerging companies and/or artists, an Open Call to submit their projects about “Interaction between theatre and new technologies”.

Who can attend

We encourage applications from artists at all stages of their careers.

The participation is open to:

Artists and Companies of every nationality
emerging companies and under 35 artists
not emerging companies and artists of every age
to who works individually or in a group of maximum 3 participants.

Theatre and new technologies plays
Art and new technologies performances
Application : deadline the 15th of MARCH 2023

The theme of LMDP Festival is the interrelation between theatre, arts and new technology.

The application must contain:

Artist’s CV;
Detailed description of the project (in PDF);
Technical rider;
Selection of max 5 photos;
Link audio / video material (Vimeo or Youtube).

Application materials must be sent by the 15th of MARCH 2023, to the mail: info@kyberteatro.it

The result is going to be notified only to selected projects by the 1st of MAY 2023.

Economic conditions.

The winners of the Open Call will have guaranteed the full coverage of the costs for mobility (flight travels, board and accommodation in Cagliari) and an “attendance fee” for the presentation of their performance for 2 evenings. If possible, we will cover also any material required for the presentation of the performance / show / play (it will be subject to agreements with our technical director).

Publication

Applying for the call, the artists must provide a short biography and an abstract of the project and they agree that the material related to the project could be published on the Festival website and/or presented to the press for promotional purposes.

Archiving process

Artists authorise Kyber Teatro – L’aquilone di Viviana to present their work, to store the material and make it accessible through the Festival’s website. All rights to the artwork and images will remain to the artist. The Organization is also entitled to document the event in all its phases through audio recordings, video or images.

We’re eager to showcase work from many creative disciplines. Please note this call may not be best-suited for every type of artist or artistic discipline. However, if it matches your current artistic goals, or your work, it could be a perfect opportunity — check the guidelines below before submitting!

About Big Screen Plaza:
Big Screen Plaza is a 10,000 sq. ft. public plaza in New York City located at the Kimpton Hotel Eventi which features a 30 ft. HD digital screen. Located between the Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, and the art galleries of Chelsea, the plaza’s central location provides an ideal venue for generating exposure for artists to engage the New York community. Throughout the year, the screen displays a rotating collection of digital exhibitions, including photography, animation, visual art, and more.

GUIDELINES:
– The #ArtOnScreen series is not exhibited with any audio, so all work must be viewed and enjoyed without any audio. Files may still contain audio, but all work will be silently displayed to the public, similar to the digital billboards in Times Square.
– All artists are curated into 15-minute exhibitions, so we are looking for artists who have enough work that is thematically cohesive which can be looped or displayed for this duration.
– Content must be suitable to be displayed publicly and viewed by an audience of all ages.
– All artists retain full copyright of their work, and our Biannual is non-exclusive, so work may be exhibited elsewhere.
– Submissions are accepted on a periodic, rolling basis. Due to the quantity of submissions, only artists whose work is chosen will be contacted. No calls, please.

BEST WORK TO SUBMIT:
– Photography
– Studio & Visual Art
– Timelapse or Aerial / Drone Footage
– Motion Graphics & Animation without dialogue
– International or local NYC content – we screen it all
– Cutting edge, contemporary work that can engage and excite the New York public

WHAT NOT TO SUBMIT:
– Any work that requires audio (silent films are welcome)
– Any long-form video content.
– Work that is primarily corporate-branded or advertising-based (Unfortunately we’re not looking to display mere commercials or ad-based work, though there are exceptions to every rule.)
– Any work with graphic violence or nudity
– Sculpture or any performance-based work which requires in-person or 3D display. All exhibitions will only occur by being broadcast on our digital screen.
