ARTS IN VENICE SUMMER SCHOOL – THE SHAPE OF WATER
The Venetian Higher Education Institutions – the Venice Academy of Fine Arts, Benedetto Marcello Music Conservatory, Ca’ Foscari University and Iuav University – are partners in the Study in Venice network and they have established the Arts in Venice Summer School – ‘The Shape of Water’.
The Summer School is offered to students from any Italian or international universities, fine art academies and music conservatories regularly enrolled for the 2023/2024 academic year at their home institution. Undergraduate students are especially encouraged to apply, but application from postgraduate and PhD students will also be considered.
Students are expected to be familiar with at least one of the following areas – Archaeology, Architecture, Art and Music History, Performing Arts and Environmental Science – and to be especially willing to get a deeper knowledge about the city of Venice and its cultural and environmental heritage.
Students will be guided by professors from the four partner institutions on a journey combining the hands-on exploration of the city with guided tours, university lectures and workshops on Archaeology, Architecture, Art and Music History, Performing Arts and Environmental Science.
On-site learning represents the core of the Summer School programme and students will have the opportunity to put into practice their knowledge and ideas in a final workshop which will aim at creating an artistic performance in a joint production including presentations, artifacts and concerts.
