Ediția din acest an a Festivalului de Film EuroShorts va avea loc în Dortmund, Germania, în perioada 27–31 mai.
Toți cineaștii europeni sunt invitați să-și prezinte creațiile și să sărbătorească diversitatea culturală a Europei. Codul de înscriere a fost transmis prin email.

The 52nd annual Student Academy Awards competition is accepting submissions. The deadline for submitting a film for consideration is Sunday, May 18, 2025 at 11:59pm PT.

What films are now eligible for the competition?

• Undergraduate intermediate-level films (third-year projects)
• Undergraduate capstone films
• Graduate school intermediate-level films (second-year projects)
• Graduate school thesis films
• Associate degree final film projects
• Certificate program final film projects

Students can still submit these films directly to the competition via FilmFreeway.

Students from last year who finished their films after June 1, 2024, they might also be eligible for this year’s competition.

We are also excited to highlight that this year’s Student Academy Awards ceremony will be held in New York City for the first time. It will take place at the Ziegfeld Ballroom on October 6, 2025.

„Dorotheea, o femeie de pluș” este un proiect ce vizează conștientizarea problemei singurătății vârstnicilor. Acesta include atât creația teatrală, cât și incluziunea socială, având ca scop îmbunătățirea stării psiho-emoționale a seniorilor.

Asociația Epancin Art este înființată în martie 2022 și construiește astfel un cadru legal pentru a putea realiza proiecte cultural-artistice și de a veni în întâmpinarea nevoilor societății. Cu două proiecte AFCN în palmares – „Mofturi, nazuri și șantaje”, dar și „Bordel 2.0”, desfășurăm activități și proiecte teatrale care contribuie la îmbunătățirea și dezvoltarea domeniului cultural, prin realizarea de spectacole adresate atât publicului larg, cât și publicului defavorizat.

Teatrul Național Aureliu Manea Turda te invite în perioada mai – iunie 2025  să faci parte dintr-o comunitate de cercetare și creație interdisciplinară, dedicată revitalizării arhivei sale artistice. 

Mind the Gap: Echoes from the Archive este un proiect care își propune să aducă împreună specialiști din domenii cât mai variate – teatru, arte, antropologie, arhitectură, media etc –  într-un proces colaborativ centrat pe explorarea arhivei digitale a teatrului. Programul include workshop-uri și sesiuni de lucru cu documente din arhivă, în urma cărora fiecare participant va selecta teme, trasee și subiecte de interes. În baza acestora, vor elabora câte un material editorial original, care va fi publicat pe platforma TNAMT Digital.

Participarea la acest proiect este remunerată, iar cazarea în Turda pentru perioada atelierelor este asigurată.

• Participi la două ateliere la Turda cu Kaya Behkalam (Media Art Researcher), Rucsandra Pop (antropolog și facilitator comunitar) și Iuliana Dumitru (curator și muzeograf)

Asociația Culturală Șerban Ionescu organizează un apel deschis pentru selectarea spectacolelor și scurtmetrajelor care vor face parte din secțiunea competițională de teatru și film a celei de-a cincea ediții a ȘI festival, desfășurată în perioada 19 – 26 iulie 2025, în satul 2 Mai, cu scopul de a susține și promova noile generații de artiști din România, oferindu-le un context de conectare cu publicul festivalului, dar și cu mediul cultural românesc. 

Apelul pentru a cincea ediție a ȘI festival este dedicat tinerilor artiști de teatru și film din România, absolvenți din ultimii 4 ani ai facultăților cu profil artistic. Persoanele eligibile sunt invitate să-și înscrie creațiile prin completarea unor formulare online disponibile pe siteul www.sifestival.ro.

Termenul-limită pentru înscrierea spectacolelor și scurtmetrajelor este 15 mai 2025, ora 15:00. (GMT+2) Propunerile înscrise după această dată nu vor fi luate în considerare. 

Spectacolele eligibile trebuie să fi avut premiera în ultimii trei ani (2023, 2024, 2025) și să fi fost realizate de o echipă de creație din care cel puțin jumătate din membri sunt tineri creatori de teatru (actori, regizori, coregrafi, scenografi etc.), studenți și/sau absolvenți ai facultăților de teatru din ultimii 4 ani.

Spectacolele eligibile pot fi produse fie de facultăți/universități de profil, fie de teatre/organizații culturale independente. Nu sunt eligibile spectacolele produse de teatre de stat, dar sunt acceptate producțiile preluate în repertoriile și programele acestora.

Scurtmetrajele eligibile pentru înscriere trebuie să fi avut premiera în ultimii trei ani (2023, 2024, 2025) și să fi fost realizate de o echipă de creație din care cel puțin jumătate din membri sunt tineri creatori de film (regizori, actori, scenariști, scenografi, directori de imagine etc.).

Reactor de creație și experiment lansează înscrierile pentru cea de-a opta ediție Drama 5!

Înscrieri până în 30 aprilie.

Proiectul se adresează tuturor autorilor dramatici, cu experiență sau fără, care doresc să scrie o piesă de teatru într-un cadru creat special pentru acest scop.

Drama 5 susține dezvoltarea dramaturgiei românești printr-un program de rezidențe de scriere dramatică la care participă anual un număr de cinci autori, selectați prin concurs. În perioada iunie-iulie 2023, cei cinci vor avea cadrul necesar pentru a finaliza o piesă proprie: ședințe de lectură și feedback cu Alina Nelega, autorul dramatic atașat rezidenței, întâlniri cu regizori, actori, dramaturgi, producători, sprijin și încurajare pentru ducerea la bun sfârșit a ideilor lor. 

Unul dintre cele cinci texte rezultate va fi montat la Reactor, iar celelalte patru vor avea câte un spectacol-lectură. Toate cinci vor fi publicate într-un volum colectiv în parteneriat cu LiterNet.

Înscrierile se fac până în data de 30 aprilie 2023, la adresa rezidente.drama5@gmail.com. Dosarele de înscriere trebuie să conțină un CV al autorului, o scurtă motivație de participare și un proiect dramaturgic (o prezentare detaliată a textului pe care se va lucra, precum și un fragment de minim 1500 de cuvinte din acesta – atenție, textul nu trebuie să fie finalizat). Nu există nici o restricție în privința temei sau a subiectului piesei, singura cerință este ca aceasta să poată fi jucată de maxim patru actori. Rezidențele sunt remunerate, iar cazarea va fi asigurată pentru rezidenții din afara Clujului.

Rezultatele selecției vor fi anunțate în 15 mai.

În selecția rezidenților se vor lua în calcul originalitatea conceptului, relevanța proiectului pentru societatea contemporană, fluența și calitatea scrisului, motivația coerentă și clară de a lua parte la acest program. Se caută autori cu o voce proprie, care au ceva de spus și cărora nu le este teamă să experimenteze, persoane deschise la feedback și la colaborare.

Calendar:

• 30 aprilie – termen limită de înscriere
• 15 mai – anunțarea celor 5 rezidenți selectați
• Iunie (la o dată stabilită ulterior) – prima etapă a rezidenței: 3 zile de workshop cu Alina Nelega
• 1-31 iulie – a doua etapă a rezidenței: o lună petrecută la Cluj

Deschidem aplicația pentru filme studențești de scurt metraj (10-25 minute).

Căutăm filme creative (documentar, fictiune, hibrid) care fac referire la una dintre tematicile menționate (chiar și tangențial).

Ethnokino este un festival internațional de film cu editii in zone diferite ale lumii (Berna, Berlin, Mexico City, Cappadocia, etc), iar anul acesta soseste si la Cluj Napoca.

Editia 2025 se concentrează pe tematici care țin de memoria colectivă, obiceiuri tradiționale și contemporane, magie în toate formele ei, spațiile liminale ale civilizației umane, noile probleme ale societății contemporane care-și au rădăcinile în trecut, manifestări ale misticismului, dar si de teme ce tin de magia comunicarii, intalnirii intre oameni si culturi, colaborare si depasirea diferentelor ideologice sau de alta natura.

Apreciem creativitatea și contemporaneitatea abordărilor formale și de conținut.

Filmele selectate vor fi proiectate în cadrul Festivalului International de Film Ethnokino, organizat de Facultatea de Teatru şi Film (Universitatea Babeş-Bolyai), între 8 şi 11 mai 2025, la Cluj Napoca.

Art. 1 – Presentation
The Venetian Higher Education Institutions – the Venice Academy of Fine Arts, Benedetto Marcello
Music Conservatory, Ca’ Foscari University and Iuav University – are partners in the Study in Venice
network and in 2025 they have established the 3rd edition of the Arts in Venice Summer School, ‘The
Shape of Water’ so as to offer selected students English-taught courses of excellence in an international
context.
The Summer School is offered to students from any Italian or international universities, fine art
academies and music conservatories, as well as to artists, teachers and scholars with a relevant
background and a strong interest in the topics of the Summer School.
Candidates are expected to be familiar with at least one of the following areas – Archaeology,
Architecture, Art and Music History, Performing Arts and Environmental Science – and to be especially
willing to get a deeper knowledge about the city of Venice and its cultural and environmental heritage.
Selected candidates can benefit from the Programme:
a) to complete their studies at the Venice Academy of Fine Arts, Benedetto Marcello Music
Conservatory, Ca’ Foscari University and Iuav University through recognition of the credits
acquired;
b) to develop their curriculum vitae in preparation for further studies;
c) to come into contact with different teaching methods in the humanities field;
d) to take part in an intensive final workshop;
e) to enrich their personal development through a knowledge experience set on site within an
intercultural context;
f) to live in the historic centre of Venice together with fellow students in international student
residences.

Art. 2 – Arts in Venice Summer School, ‘The Shape of Water’: courses, structure and credit
recognition

1. 20 students will be accepted for the Arts in Venice Summer School, ‘The Shape of Water’ in 2025. Further admissions up to 5 more places might be considered by the Selection Committee
   depending on courses and lab facilities.
2. Courses are taught by scholars and researchers from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Iuav
   University of Venice, the Venice Academy of Fine Arts and Benedetto Marcello Music
   Conservatory, in the areas of Archaeology, Architecture, Art and Music History, Performing Arts
   and Environmental Science, and are held in English (the official language of the programme).
3. In 2025 the Arts in Venice Summer School, ‘The Shape of Water’ will hold the following courses:
   Archaeology, Medieval Art, Contemporary Art, History of Architecture, Urban Planning,
   Environmental Sciences, Venetian Music Performance and Research, Music History.
   All courses will focus on Venice as a case study and students will have the opportunity to put
   into practice their knowledge and ideas during a final workshop.
   Senior students from Iuav University of Venice will assist and support the students in their
   studies and during their stay in Venice.
4. The programme runs for two weeks from June 30th until July 11th, 2025. Classes are held in
   the four institutions – the Venice Academy of Fine Arts, Benedetto Marcello Music Conservatory,
   Ca’ Foscari University and Iuav University –, however, on-site learning represents the core of
   the Summer School programme: students will have the opportunity to see and experience in
   the real city what they have been taught.
5. The Summer School runs for a total of 54 hours. If a student is unable to attend any of the
   sessions (classes, labs, field trips), the course professor/the tutor/the Summer School office
   must be notified, and valid motivation must be provided.
6. Students who do not attend at least 75% of the whole school hours will not be eligible to obtain
   the certificate described below.
7. Upon successful completion of the Arts in Venice Summer School, ‘The Shape of Water’,
   students will obtain a certificate of attendance; credits might be recognised by each participant’s
   home institution, and up to 4 credits (ECTS/CFU) by one of the participating universities in the
   Study in Venice network, based on their respective governing rules.

1. Applicants must have a good working knowledge of English (a solid B2 is expected).

School offer them) and their attitude (why they think they are a good candidate);
c. transcript of records (in English, for students currently enrolled in
university/academy/conservatory) and/or diploma (in English);
d. copy of valid identity document (passport or ID card).

4. Applications may be rejected for any of the following reasons:
   a. received after the deadline;
   b. incomplete or incorrect;
   c. missing documents.
5. The application deadline is April 7th, 2025.

Art. 5 – Selection and overall ranking

1. The selection process will be carried out by a Selection Committee, to be nominated by the four Study in Venice institutions.
2. Students will be ranked according to the following criteria:

a. the overall score will be based on:

• 50% curriculum vitae and relevant study and/or work experience;
• 50% motivation letter.

b. In case the criteria listed at art. 5.2.a will not be enough to have a clear assessment of one or more students, the Selection Committee may decide, in its sole discretion, to schedule some remote oral interviews in order to ascertain the presence of the requirements listed above;

c. should two or more candidates attain an equal placing in the ranking, precedence will be given to the younger candidate.

3. The rankings will be available on https://www.studyinvenice.it/en no later than April 16th, 2025. The publication constitutes formal notification.

4. Candidates who are ranked eligible will be admitted according to available places on condition
   they accept their place within the specified time frame (see art.6).

Art. 6 – Final admission, fees and payment

1. Candidates who have been selected for the programme will be required to confirm their place
   through payment of the summer school fees within 7 days following the publication of the overall
   rankings.
2. Registration fees are € 750,00

Athens Summer School in Visual Ethnographic Practices

The Ethnofest – Athens Ethnographic Film Festival, in collaboration with the University of Amsterdam (UvA), organises the intensive “Athens Summer School in Visual Ethnographic Practices”. 

We are excited to welcome you to Athens from July 7th to July 27th. During your time here, you will immerse yourself in the city’s rich offerings, spark your creativity through the visual stimuli of your urban surroundings, participate in collaborative practices, and enhance your skills in ethnographic methods.

About the School

Visual anthropology and multimodal ethnography are increasingly crucial for those engaged in ethnographic research, visual analysis, or material culture studies, as well as for critical discussions about cinema and various forms of cultural expression. By exploring the methodologies available and reflecting on their application in urban settings, we aim to highlight the significance of visual ethnographic practices and documentary filmmaking.

The city of Athens offers an excellent setting for participants to explore what camera-based research can accomplish. During summer school, we will concentrate on visual theory and the practical application of audio-visual tools, while the courses will examine historical and contemporary examples of ethnographic documentaries. 

Structure of the school

The school will run from Monday, July 7th, 2025, until Sunday, July 27th, 2025. 

During these 3 weeks, the students will be:

Attending lectures

Planning small-scale research

Conducting fieldwork

Receiving supervision for their ethnographic projects

Filming 

Editing

Students will collaborate in teams of three to explore the process of creating a 10-minute short film. This project will provide them with valuable hands-on experience and creative skills. A selection of these films will be showcased in a special section called “Initiations” at the Ethnofest – Athens Ethnographic Film Festival in November of the same year.

The seminars and group meetings will run daily in a space situated at the centre of Athens, where the participants will be able to participate in the programme while taking inspiration from their urban surroundings. Field research will take place in selected areas and locations around the city. The seminars will provide students with a general framework of visual anthropology/ethnographic theory and methodology and a basic knowledge of all the steps of ethnographic video production. At the same time, the seminars will introduce them to contemporary approaches to field research in an urban setting through lectures, practical exercises, and guided walks. Students should expect to have one or two sessions per day (e.g. 3h- 6h), while, they will conduct fieldwork and filming in parallel.

Students are encouraged, though not required, to read the literature before their arrival in Greece to prepare for the seminars.

Aim

The school aims to provide the opportunity for students to experience filming in a highly diverse and multi-layered urban setting and obtain an overview of current debates and research topics in visual anthropology and multi-modal ethnography. By learning and participating in the film production process, the students gain practical experience in a new context, develop their skills, work in a team, make new contacts, and present their research topics.

Methodology

The summer school expects students to participate actively in all the courses and conduct visual ethnographic field research in group teams. Their small-scale ethnographic projects could focus on diverse research objects such as life stories,  popular beliefs, urban legends, material culture, performative practices, and intangible culture (music, dance, crafts, etc.). Students are encouraged to contact various people to discuss, interview, and materialize their topics, focusing their filming ethnographic process on specific neighborhoods, social networks, civil society organizations, etc. Broader societal questions/approaches that include politics, identities, gender perspective, immigration/migration, religious beliefs, social class, and human rights, among others, can be addressed and framed in concrete ethnographic filming projects. 

Participants will record and edit original filming material, which will be discussed under the guidance of experienced staff and presented/screened in the format of a short documentary at the end of the school. The supervisors will guide and encourage students to follow a clear idea and an ethnographically meaningful narrative plot to create their storytelling.  

Course requirements, language, and evaluation

The course is open to students from the last year of their BA to Master’s degree and first year PhD. All lectures will be delivered in English. The participant’s performance during courses, their final product (short film), and a one-pager presenting the film will be discussed at the end of the school. The student groups also have the opportunity to submit their films – with minor revisions and corrections – to the special section of Ethnofest – Athens Ethnographic Film Festival titled “Initiations.”

Courses period, dates, and times

The school consists of 21 intensive days with lectures, field research, filming, and editing. Classes, including breaks, are daily for the first half of the school term. The rest of the time, students will conduct fieldwork research, filming, and editing under the supervision of their tutors.

Students are encouraged to bring their own equipment and laptops in order to make their training process smoother; however, the summer school will provide in-rotation cameras, audio equipment, and laptops for editing per group of students. The number of participating students is limited (max. 18 to 21). 

Costs and subsidies

The total cost of the course is 850€ for EU and international students. Greek students are eligible for a concession fee of 600€. Students are expected to cover their flights from their country of residence to Athens and back, as well as their accommodation and lunch and dinner costs. Upon confirmation of the participants, the selected students will be contacted to discuss the prospect of sharing accommodation. 

Important information for candidates applying to the Athens Summer School in Visual Ethnographic Practices

As the programme takes place during the summer season, when the temperature in Greece is relatively high, we recommend that the participants keep this in mind while preparing for their stay. Lightweight clothing, portable fans, water bottles, and hats would be of great use.

What to expect

Three intensive weeks of theory courses, stimulating discussions and critical engagement, introduction to technological media to facilitate your filmmaking process, and consulting sessions with your tutors. Also, walks and cultural visits. These days will be heavily loaded to give the participants a complete sense of what visual ethnographic practices entail. For the smooth flow of the programme, it is essential to acknowledge the importance of team bonding, cultivating safe spaces for collective discussions, troubleshooting, and horizontal decision-making in the working groups. 

What not to expect

This is an ethnographic documentary filmmaking programme. Our primary concern is that the participants leave feeling richer in ethnographic documentary filmmaking rather than necessarily acquiring technological novelties to create a highly professional visual product. Prior knowledge of technical skills such as editing and shooting is appreciated and will be considered when forming teams to ensure skill diversity in each group. The equipment used will complement these goals but is not our main priority.

Course objectives
The objective of the course is to acquire the skills and working methods in serial scriptwriting.
Didactic program

The course takes place over a period of 5 non-consecutive weeks, structured in 3 modules.
During the first online module, developed over 8 lessons, students will be introduced to the fundamentals
of television seriality, the construction of a serial character, and the various possible interconnections
between multiple narrative lines. The structures of some successful series and their pilot episodes will
be analyzed.
The second module will be held in presence and will be devoted to the analysis of the series projects of
the students. With the support of the teachers, and the constant feedback of their fellow students, each
student will develop a standard subject.
One morning will be dedicated to a visit to Cinecittà, followed by the meeting with a great master of
Italian cinema.
The third and final phase will consist of 2 online meetings, during which the students will submit their
pitches to a production teacher, who will help them find the strengths and weaknesses of the presentation
in order to make it more effective.

Outcoming occupational profile
Competence in serial scriptwriting.

lenses – with the guidance of the teacher – students will be guided in making a self-tape in English. One
morning will be dedicated to a visit to Cinecittà, followed by the meeting with a great master of Italian

Teatrul Național Aureliu Manea Turda deschide un #opencall prin care caută dramaturgie pentru copii!

Căutăm texte pentru copii care nu au fost încă montate, scrise în ultimii ani (cât mai recente).

Noi vom alege o parte dintre ele pentru a le transforma în spectacole-lectură și pentru a le publica într-o antologie în cadrul Turda International Theatre Festival.

Căutăm aproximativ 20 de persoane pentru o filmare ce va avea loc la UNATC pe 24 martie, între 9:00 și 12:00. Scena se desfășoară într-o sală de facultate, așa că avem nevoie de participanți care să arate ca studenți – îmbrăcați casual, cu caiete, cărți, pixuri etc.

Pe platou vom asigura o masă de snacks-uri, apă, cafea și pizza.

Hoinar.Crossroads, proiect conex festivalului Hoinar.Odyssey 2025, este o serie de 5 instalații artistice ce vor reflecta cele 5 spectacole din festival. Fiecare instalație va include muzică nouă (compusă și imprimată/cântată live de studenți de la UNMB) și un scenariu de teatru non-verbal sau coregrafie care să exprime tematica din spectacol: călătoria (inițiere, căutare de sine, imigrație, călătoria sufletului între lumi, dilema răscrucii). Este de preferat ca instalațiile să fie făcute sub formă de scurt film, sau un performance care folosește un spațiu de dimensiuni restrânse. Esențial este ca ele să conțină atât un element muzical, cât și unul dramatic.

5 echipe de studenți selectați din cadrul UNATC și UNMB vor lucra fiecare la câte o instalație artistică ce va fi expusă în foaierul teatrului Act în fiecare seară de spectacol (cu excepția ultimei instalații care va fi expusă pe scena Ateneului Român).

Echipa de mentori din partea festivalului este formată din
– Actrița și cântăreața Sarah Gabriel (visiting professor la Royal Academy of Music, Londra)
– Regizorul Michael Hoffman (regizor a numeroase lung metraje printre care The Last Station – 2009, cu Helen Mirren și Christopher Plummer, și The Best of Me – 2014, cu James Marden și Michelle Monaghan)
– Pianistul Florian Mitrea (Royal Academy of Music, Londra)
Îndrumarea studenților se va face prioritar în mediul online, dată fiind echipa de profesori cu rezidențe în Marea Britanie și Statele Unite.

TAIFAS – The Balkan Film and Culture Festival is offering a Research Fellowship Program for young researchers under 35, focusing on key topics related to Romanian and Balkan cinema. The fellowship includes a residency in Timisoara, Romania during the festival (October 13-19, 2025) and a research paper submission by November 8, 2025, with a 1000 EUR stipend and additional support for travel and accommodation. Developing Art lansează un nou call: cercetător/cercetătoare interesat/ă de intersecția artei și tehnologiei!

De data asta, ne adresăm masteranzilor, doctoranzilor, asistenților de cercetare & cercetătorilor pe care îi preocupă zonele de intersecție dintre cercetarea artistică și cea tehnologică – noi vă oferim cadrul tocmai bun de observație practică: proiectul Performing the digital. in progress.

Contextul în care vei interveni

15 studenți la facultățile de arte și 4 mentori cu interese și experiență în coregrafie, muzică/sunet, arte vizuale și noile media vor intra, în săptămâna 13-17 aprilie, la Centrul Naţional al Dansului Bucureşti, într-un proces de cercetare colaborativă.

Scopul lor e de a chestiona artistic interacțiunea dintre tehnologie, corp și comunicare și o vor face lucrând împreună, în echipe interdisciplinare. După zilele de laborator, vor avea timp o lună să creeze o serie de lucrări artistice pe care Goethe-Institut Bucuresti le va găzdui, în perioada 21-27 mai, într-o expoziție multimedia.

Ce vei face tu?

Ca cercetător, vei însoți laboratorul artistic și perioada de lucru propriu-zis a tinerilor artiști și vei observa procesele interdisciplinare care s-a conturat. Le vei ilustra, apoi, într-o prezentare publică și un material scris. Textul scris va constitui baza unui viitor material științific publicabil într-o revistă de specialitate sau va completa un articol/o cercetare aflat/ă deja în stadiul de dezvoltare. Bineînțeles, cercetarea ta din cadrul proiectului va fi remunerată.
