ELIA ACADEMY 2021 – Call for contributions

ELIA is excited to announce that the 10th ELIA Academy will be held from 19 – 21 May 2021, hosted by LUCA School of Arts and KU Leuven Faculty of Architecture.
ELIA Academy brings together lecturers and students to exchange teaching and learning practices in higher arts education.
Representatives of ELIA member institutions are invited to contribute to the next edition’s programme, exploring the idea of transferable creative intelligence and the concept of the ‘extended artist’.
Be part of the ELIA Academy experience and set the pace in arts education. 

This is a critical moment to think about the purpose of creative education and the wider contribution art students can make to a progressive agenda for change within and beyond the creative industries.
At ELIA, we recognise that this is a time of social instability and cultural change. This moment in time can be a chance for re-imagining rather than adapting.

The <extended art student> is looking for curricula and pedagogy that embed shifting digital paradigms, altered skillsets, equality, innovative research initiatives, transdisciplinarity and horizontal collaboration with partners and associates that are traditionally not part of higher arts education. 

  • How should we prepare art students for an environment of constant change, flexibility and adaptability?
  • How do we develop anti-discriminatory pedagogy?
  • How should we help students develop transferable creative intelligence that will enable them to work within or beyond their discipline? 

Address the questions related to pandemic and uncertainty; equality, diversity and anti-racism; transferable creative intelligence in higher arts education with us. Grasp the chance to present your teaching and learning practice, exchange knowledge and try out innovative methods at ELIA Academy 2021 – a place of experimentation and sharing, a bootcamp for lecturers, art educators, artistic researchers and students. 
Showcase your research amongst colleagues from all over the world and play an active role in the development of teaching techniques in the arts.

As a platform for educational innovation, the ELIA Academy encourages submissions that are experimental, participatory, energising, inventive and provocative.

Open City Documentary Festival 2021 Film Submission Pre-Selectors

Open City Documentary Festival is looking for individuals to join our film submissions pre-selection panel for our 2021 edition. We are seeking committed individuals with a proven interest in non-fiction cinema and this opportunity is suitable for those with some experience in film programming and moving image curation.

Submission Viewers will support the Director of Film Programming and will be expected to watch 78 hours (across feature, mid-length and short films) between December 2020 and June 2021. They will also take part in one meeting per month with the Open City Documentary Festival Programming team to feedback on their viewing. Candidates can be based anywhere but should be fluent in English (written and verbal).

Open City Documentary Festival creates an open space to nurture and champion the art of creative documentary and non-fiction filmmakers. Over 7500 people attended the tenth edition of the festival which took place online. The festival took place between 9th–15th September 2020 screening international contemporary non-fiction film, audio and cross media. The 11th edition of the festival will take place in September 2021.

We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds but particularly welcome applications from candidates from BAME backgrounds.

MAX3MIN Short Film Festival

MAX3MIN is an on-line newborn short film festival where the films are so short they last no longer than 3 minutes. The festival is born out of the sole intent of telling stories. Film stories condensed in a minimum time, stories about the time that runs fast, stories of feelings that do not need time.Born in the virtual world, the first edition of MAX3MIN will take place from 10 to 21 March on an customized platform. There is only one international call for entries: with no division into categories, we look for short films of every genre and language, shot in any format and at any time.Duration is the only limit: up to 3 minutes, excluding titles, and every filmmaker can submit up to 3 films.For this reason, I ask you to spread the world among your students at the National University of Theatre and Film, as I think it could be a good start for them to submit their first projects and be awarded with 3,000 euros for the production of a new film. Open City Documentary Festival

Open City Documentary Festival creates an open space to nurture and champion the art of creative documentary and non-fiction filmmakers. We provide a platform for emerging talent as well as established masters working within the documentary form.

Over 7500 people attended the tenth edition of the festival which took place online. The festival took place between 9th–15th September 2020 screening international contemporary non-fiction film, audio and cross media, as well as filmmaker Q&As, industry panels, special live events and industry networking opportunities.

Submissions for Open City Documentary Festival 2021 are now open. We’re looking for creative, innovative, challenging non-fiction filmmaking at short, mid-length and feature-length, as well as short audio documentaries, and cross platform projects.

Prizes are awarded in four categories: Open City Award, Emerging Filmmaker Award, the UK Short Award, and International Short Award.

Gallery +359 International Resident Program

Gallery +359 is located in the building of a preserved water tower in Sofia, Bulgaria. It was designed in 1903 by the German engineer Franz Salbach, and the structure was finished in 1929. 27 meters tall, it was built at the highest point of the Lozenets district in Sofia (610.40 m), based on a French system for construction of water towers with reinforced concrete and brick masonry. The tower’s tank, now hosting various video and audio projects, has a volume of 100 cubic meters. In the past, apart from being a hydraulic structure, the architecture of the building permitted it to serve as a watchtower.

The residency provides a working stay in Sofia from two weeks to a month, at the invitation of the gallery, for foreign visual artist to create a site-specific project for the Water tower space.
The stay will be split in two parts, the specifics of which depend on the artistic practice of the resident – a research period and a production period. Within the Resident Program, the artist will make a presentation of his or hers work to the public and will draw up an exhibition plan. The date of the presentation will be decided according to the exhibition schedule and the artist’s possibility to stay. Gallery +359 will provide a studio; will cover the travel expenses as well as production costs for the exhibition, as the budget will vary depending on the project. The artist will donate a work for the contemporary art collection of Gallery +359.

IETM, International network for contemporary performing arts, is a network of 500 professional organisations engaged in the contemporary performing arts from over 50 countries. Our members include independent artists and other performing arts professionals, festivals, companies, producers, theatres, research and resource centres, universities and institutional bodies. 

Role

For implementing an EU project, we are looking for a full-time Project Coordinator, who will execute and support the 18-month process of the project implementation. The extension of the contract is possible, but it is subject to securing funding upon the end of the project.

The main responsibility of Project Coordinator will be ensuring a day-to-day smooth and effective flow among the multiple tasks and stages of the project. Project Coordinator will support and follow-up on the implementation of key production, administration and communication tasks of the project, in close collaboration with Project Administrator, Communication Manager, Digital Platform Expert, Project Manager, Consortium Board and the research team. She/he will coordinate the communication among the Consortium members, and elaborate and follow-up on implementation schedules.  Project Coordinator will also work to meet reporting requirements, with the support of Project Manager and the rest of the project team. Project Coordinator will be occasionally asked to represent the project publicly.

Project Coordinator will report to the Project Manager.

Profile

We are looking for a hands-on and multi-skilled person, with a positive attitude and a passion for performing arts. The successful candidate will have a strategic approach to project management and a progressive outlook towards finding the best solutions.

Skills and experience:

  • Three to six years of experience in the performing arts or wider cultural sector, at an international level. Direct experience in the performing arts touring management is a vital asset.
  • Experience in production and administration. Knowledge of communication tools, channels and strategies is a bonus.
  • Strong written and spoken skills in English. Other languages are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player, in a multicultural environment
  • Strong organisational  and planning skills, strategic thinking and practical approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, shifting between tasks and keep oversight on priorities
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and networking skills
  • Experience in managing EU projects is desirable, but not required

Call for Papers: CINETic Review 2(1).2020 Adaptive Storytelling

Adaptive Storytelling

Story lies at the basis of human experience of life. We see stories in a leaf floating, in a cup of tea, a natural disaster or in a moving dot on a screen. We tell stories to communicate with each other, to make sense of the world we live in, to entertain ourselves and our fellows.

Story bears a conflict between fixed form and fluidity. 

Actors adapt to their audiences, especially in comedy performances. Commedia dell’Arte involved a continuous dialogue between improvisation and pre-written texts. Forms of improvisation theatre use low but efficient techniques to build adaptive storytelling.

While a story can be fixed in a script, stories time travel and are re-told. The printing press fixed the novels in books as a culmination of storytelling. Captured movement fixed stories on celluloid and made actors into stars. Later, on in the digital environment, what was fixed became fluid again. The end can become the beginning, the dead can resurrect on screen and entertain us once again with vidding, produsage or  datamoshing becoming a widespread practice in online video, content audiences interacting with ready made content in shaping new stories. 

With the advent of stronger and stronger computing power, a new ideal is emerging: interactive storytelling.

Story is strongly linked to the technology and the medium through which it is told. Besides delivering targeted commercials, nowadays AI can simulate speech and draft scripts. Games use AI in emulating non-human players for bringing action and realism to digital worlds. Will AI overcome the need for a good story for structure? Will we be living the dream of a digital storytelling machine?

CINETic Review 2(1).2020 focusses on technologies and techniques used for creating live or recorded adaptive stories. We look forward to papers publishing original research results or case studies from fields of performance, film, gaming, interactive art, social platforms, and interdisciplinary art-science-technology approaches on interactive storytelling practices.

All submitted papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted articles will be published in the CINETic Review

MILL’S BEAUTY / REALITY SALON – a Needcompany fellowship

CALL FOR PRESENCE

In theory there is no difference between Michelangelo, Louise Bourgeois, Martha Graham and Simone de Beauvoir: they all start out from that empty moment, that blank canvas, and then decide when they will let the world in. The time Michelangelo spent staring at his block of marble before he carved the Pietà: that is noiseless time.

Nowadays, when art is systematically being associated with the realm of commodities, when the work of art needs to meet the demands of production and deliver results saleable on the market, with MILL’s Beauty Salon we want to mark out the moment of noiseless time – when the realms of beauty and reality come together and feed the artistic process.

With MILL’s Reality Salon we want to address the question of whether the era of BEAUTY is over and whether REALITY has now become the main topic of artistic interest. Is it the case that the true moment of exploration occurs when one word is mistaken for another? We wish that the artists of the salon, instead of going in one direction or another, remain open for the clash of these two notions – in its poetic and formal quest.

MILL’s Beauty Salon was born out of the desire to continue the multidisciplinary artistic exploration that Needcompany began more than 30 years ago. We want to create a space in which to keep heritage on the move and open ourselves up for new encounters with artists of different generations, experiences and visions.As one of the most funded independent theatre organizations in Flanders, we feel an urge to share resources in the current crisis, to create possibilities for those in need and to create awareness of the sensibility and precariousness of those who keep the arts alive.

MILL’s Reality Salon is related to MILL – Needcompany’s artistic house in the heart of Sint-Jans-Molenbeek, which, since March 2017, has been a place for thinking, creating, rehearsing, connecting and exchanging.

MILL’s Beauty Salon is neither a residency nor a production-oriented programme. We are explicitly committed to supporting artists in thinking, dreaming and creating timelessly.Our wish is to support the artistic process by providing an environment and the required resources.

To apply for MILL’s Reality Salon, we are only inviting artists (whether individuals or collectives) who have never collaborated with Needcompany before.

The budget of MILL’s Beauty Salon is 10 000 euro, which will be granted to one or several artists, depending on the specific needs of their proposals.

In addition to financial support, Needcompany offers support in kind: a residency room at MILL (writers’ room), use of the studio at MILL (play room), and a dramaturgical dialogue with the members of Needcompany. The selected artists will be given the opportunity to present their work to the public at MILL.

The fellowship is open to all nationalities & ages and designed for artists who have developed an independent body of work over a number of years.

We encourage applications from artists who have a link with Brussels, the heart of international thinking.

The timeframe of the fellowship is February–December 2021.

The jury will consist of the representatives of the artists, staff and board members of Needcompany, and a guest jury member.

Open Call: 2021 Photography and Social Justice Fellowship

Magnum Foundation’s Photography and Social Justice Program builds capacity through critical explorations of photography and social change.

Each year, the program supports a diverse, international group of Photography and Social Justice Fellows who are passionate about challenging injustice, pursuing social equality, and advancing human rights through photography. The program provides space for interdisciplinary experimentation, mentored project development, and cross-cultural, critical discourse for developing new approaches to socially engaged documentary practice. With intensive mentorship, artist- and expert-led workshops, peer-to-peer learning, and production funds, this program prepares fellows to make effective creative projects and become leaders who inspire social movements, pose difficult questions, and stimulate debate and awareness about pressing social issues. 

Magnum Foundation covers the cost of participation, including all educational and programmatic activities. Fellows also receive a modest stipend to support the production of their projects. The program is produced in partnership with the City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism.

The Photography and Social Justice Program takes place during May through October 2021 and  includes a core seminar course, workshops, mentored project development, and mentored production. Due to COVID-19, the 2021 program will be held remotely and meetings will occur with consideration of participants’ timezones.

Magnum Foundation Photography and Social Justice Fellows are early- to mid-career photographers or individuals in aligned disciplines who are motivated to deepen their engagement with photography and social justice.

This program especially aims to support people of color, women, gender non-conforming individuals, LGBTQ individuals, individuals who are part of racial, ethnic, or religious minority groups, and others whose authorship is unevenly represented within the field of documentary photography.

Applications are due December 1, 2020 at 11:59pm ET.

Photography and Social Justice Fellows are selected through an open, international call for applications. Candidates will be notified about their status of their application in early February 2021.

Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed and final decisions will be made by the end of February 2021.

Fundația Regală Margareta a României lansează o nouă selecție pentru programul de Burse Tinere Talente ediția 2021, adresată tinerilor muzicieni și artiști vizuali. Termenul limită al aplicației este 18 decembrie 2020.

Candidații pentru Bursele Tinere Talente 2021 trebuie să îndeplinească următoarele criterii de eligibilitate:

  1. să aibă vârsta cuprinsă între 14 și 24 de ani
  2. să studieze la liceele sau universitățile de arte vizuale și muzică din România
  3. să provină din familii cu venitul de sub 1.500 LEI / membru de familie, și să poată dovedi că nu dispun de mijloace financiare pentru a-și perfecționa talentul

Cum aplici pentru Bursa Tinere Talente

Trimite prin e-mail până la data de 18 decembrie 2020, dosarul de candidatură. Acesta trebuie să includă:

Formularul va fi însoțit de documente justificative pentru situația materială prezentată (fluturaș de salariu sau adeverință de venit, copie talon de pensie, copie indemnizație de șomaj, după caz ). Pentru membrii familiei care nu au venituri, dar au peste 18 ani și nu sunt înscriși într-o formă de învățământ, se va atașa o declarație pe proprie răspundere conform căreia aceștia nu realizează venituri. Aceste documente justificative se atașează pentru părinți, bunici și frați care locuiesc în aceeași gospodărie.

  1. Curriculum vitae care va conține date de contact (e-mail și telefon), concursurile la care a participat candidatul, diplome și premii obținute etc.
  2. O scrisoare de recomandare din partea unui profesor de specialitate în care se va face referire la calitățile artistice și cele umane ale candidatului (de exemplu: perseverență, dedicație, punctualitate, respect față de ceilalți etc.)
  3. Adeverință de elev/student sau copie după carnetul de elev/ student
  4. Copie act de identitate buletin/carte de identitate sau certificat de naștere

Etapele procesului de selecție:

  1. Trimiterea dosarului de candidatură – până la data de 18 decembrie 2020.
  2. Preselecția: analiza dosarelor, realizată de echipa proiectului – până la data de 10 ianuarie 2020.
  3. Selecția candidaților pentru muzică se va realiza în baza unei înregistrări audio-video cu durata de maximum 10 minute conținând o piesă muzicală la alegere solo sau cu acompaniament de pian. Fișierul va fi transmis prin wetransfer sau un alt serviciu de transfer de fișiere, iar linkul va fi comunicat în mailul trimis la adresa: tineretalente@principesa.ro. În e-mail vor fi precizate numele, prenumele, unitatea de învățământ. Nu se accepta înregistrări din concert, înregistrări care au o durata mai mare de 10 minute.
  4. Selecția pentru domeniul Arte Vizuale va fi realizată în baza unui portofoliu artistic cu lucrări, animații, fotografii etc. trimis în format electronic. Vă rugăm insistent să trimiteți portofoliul cu fotografii în format PDF, în caz contrar, nu va fi luat în calcul. Denumirea PDF-ului trebuie să cuprindă: PRENUME+NUME +PORTOFOLIU ARTE VIZUALE. Portofoliul va fi transmis prin wetransfer sau un alt serviciu de transfer de fișiere, iar linkul va fi comunicat în mailul trimis la adresa: tineretalente@principesa.ro. În e-mail vor fi precizate numele, prenumele, unitatea de învățământ. Se recomandă un minim de 15 și un maxim de 25 de imagini cu lucrări realizate în ultimii 2 ani, iar portofoliul să fie însoțit de o scurtă  descriere a propriului demers artistic și a procesului creativ.
  5. Interviul va fi realizat on-line de către juriu cu acei candidați care au trecut de etapa selecției (evaluarea portofoliului și a înregistrărilor audio – video). Dosarul de înscriere trebuie însoțit de înregistrare audio-video pentru muzică și de portofoliul artistic pentru arte vizuale.

Programul Tinere Talente susține și promovează tinerii artiști din familii cu venituri modeste, care nu-și pot dezvolta talentul din cauza lipsurilor materiale și financiare. Bursele Tinere Talente se acordă pe perioada unui an calendaristic și permit tinerilor să își cumpere materiale și instrumente și să participe la concursuri, concerte, expoziții și cursuri de specializare în România sau în străinătate. Festival of Transcultural Cinema

Our festivals’ students’ platform calls for first and final works such as documentaries, feature films and short films covering inter- and sociocultural issues. With our selection we aim to give an insight into the diversity, creativity, and originality of emerging filmmakers & visual anthropologists from all around the world – with no restrictions on theme, duration, or form.

We are looking for films that explore the complexity of our world by telling individual stories within their local contexts. Students of visual anthropology, media arts, filmmaking as well as socially engaged filmmakers without any formal study in these areas are welcome to submit their work. What matters most to us is the film’s attempt to listen and observe closely, the filmmaker’s sensitive engagement with its protagonists and subjects as well as its originality in terms of both content and form.

Collaborative, participative methods as well as experimental approaches to conveying social-cultural issues are most welcome. Just as in recent years, we also aim to create a space for VR projects and interactive documentaries.

România fără corupție – concurs de filme de scurtmetraj

Concursul de filme de scurtmetraj cu tematică anticorupție România fără Corupție (rofaracoruptie.ro) face parte din Proiectul #Integritate 2020 inițiat de Asociația Pro Democrația (www.apd.ro), Direcția Generală Anticorupție (www.mai-dga.ro) și Fundația Hanns Seidel România (www.hss.ro).

Proiectul este asociat Festivalului Internațional de Film Transilvania (TIFF), ediția 2020.

Concursul se desfășoară în perioada august – decembrie 2020, iar perioada de înscriere a filmelor de scurt metraj este 1 octombrie – 20 noiembrie 2020, ora 23.59. Formularele de înscriere primite după această dată nu vor fi luate în considerare.
Înscrierea în concurs a filmelor realizate se face completând formularul electronic de pe site-ul rofaracoruptie.ro, la butonul Înscrie filmul tău aici.
Câștigătorii vor fi anunțați și premiați pe 9 decembrie a.c., de Ziua Internațională Anticorupție, în cadrul Galei Integrității – ediția 2020, la care, în funcţie de situaţia epidemiologică din acel moment, vor fi invitaţi realizatorii primelor 10 filme clasate. Cu această ocazie vor fi proiectate primele 10 filmele clasate. Ulterior, datei de 9 decembrie 2020 vor fi postate pe site-ul concursului link-uri pentru toate filmele participante în concurs.

Concursul film de scurt metraj cu tematică anticorupţie România fără corupţie se desfăşoară la două secţiuni: amatori şi profesionişti.
Fiecare participant poate concura cu un singur film, care să abordeze unul sau mai multe dintre următoarele subiecte:

a) urmările corupției asupra viitorului cetăţenilor/tinerilor – filme care ilustrează modul în care corupția afectează modul de viață, viitorul și nivelul de trai;
b) atitudinea ce trebuie adoptată faţă de faptele de corupţie – filme care ilustrează refuzul funcționarului public de a primi mită sau reacția cetățeanului atunci când i se cere mită;
c) modalitățile de sesizare a faptelor de corupție – lucrări care ilustrează modalitățile prin care pot fi sesizate faptele de corupție (ex. apel Call-center anticorupţie 0800.806.806, depunere denunţ, plângere etc.).

Call for Web Residencies No 14: Post-Doom

For Akademie Schloss Solitude’s Call for Web Residencies No. 14, we invited artist and musician Johanna Hedva as curator. Moving away from all-encompassing dystopian future scenarios, »Post-Doom« explores how the perception of a lost present is inscribed in and reproduced in our everyday experiential spaces. As a seductive counterpart to this seemingly hopeless approaching terminal state (or standstill), Hedva calls for us to rethink beginnings, new multiple entry points, and experiences that reveal the longing for a whole, unmediated potential of our present and future.

We invite artist, healers, astrologers, dancers, musicians, alchemists, writers, and everybody who is willing to explore notions of new beginnings. What if doom is a beginning, rather than an end? And who has access to this new beginning?

Format

We accept text, performance, 3D objects, net sculptures and installations, web archives, apps, and any other experimental mediums. Selected projects should be carried out in open-source formats that are well-documented, shareable, and consider the accessibility of its users, who may range in age, race, gender, economic class, and ability.

Application

Submit your project proposal in the form of:
– a headline
– a concept text in English (1,000–1,500 characters with spaces)
– a header image (high resolution, landscape format)
– a short bio in English (500 characters with spaces)

Web Residencies

In 2016, Akademie Schloss Solitude launched the Web Residencies to encourage young talents of the international digital scene and artists from all disciplines dealing with web-based practices. ZKM was program partner from 2017–2019. For each call, the curator selects four project proposals whose creators receive a four-week residency and 750 euros.

Artists are invited to experiment with digital technologies and new art forms, and reflect on the topics set by the curators. Web residencies are carried out exclusively online, and the works are presented online.

Artists and students of all disciplines as well as former or current Solitude fellows may apply. There is no age limit.

Despre Film Speed-Dating 2020:

Cu ocazia celei de-a XI-a ediții, Les Films de Cannes à Bucarest organizează FILM SPEED-DATING, eveniment prin care își dorește să ofere oportunitatea scenariștilor, regizorilor și producătorilor să se întâlnească pentru a dezvolta împreună proiecte de film.

Cui se adresează proiectul și cine poate aplica la Film Speed-Dating?

Apelul de proiecte se adresează studenților, masteranzilor și absolvenților unei facultăți de film, care se află în dezvoltare cu un scenariu de lungmetraj. Candidații trebuie să aibă scris la momentul aplicației un draft de scenariu sau un treatment de maximum 5 pagini pentru un proiect de lungmetraj. În urma Open Call-ului, autorii proiectelor selectate vor fi contactați, urmând să-și prezinte proiectul public, în cadrul unei sesiuni de pitching, în fața mai multor producători, regizori și a altor specialiști în domeniu.

Cum se va desfășura Film Speed-Dating?

Participanți selectați vor primi, anterior zilei de pitchng, o scurtă prezentare “How to Pitch” care să ajute la sintetizarea și pregătirea prezentării pitch-ului. În cadrul sesiunii de pitch, fiecare participant va avea la dispoziție 7 minute pentru prezentarea proiectului său. Aceasta poate fi însoțită de imagini foto sau video reprezentative pentru proiectul pitch-uit. În cazul în care există materiale vizuale pentru pitch, termenul limită pentru a trimite aceste elemente este 27 octombrie.Prezentarea va fi urmată de un industry networking event.Pentru că ne dorim să creăm un mediu de lucru sigur pentru toate persoanele implicate, vom organiza rezidența respectând toate normele de siguranță impuse de situația actuală generată de răspândirea noului virus COVID-19.

Cum puteți aplica?

Pentru înscrierea online trebuie trimise următoarele documente:

1. CV și filmografie (opțional – reel sau link către operele anterioare);

2. Scrisoare de intenție în care să se menționeze stadiul de dezvoltare a proiectului (dacă există un draft de scenariu și un regizor atașat, sau dacă aplicantul dorește să și regizeze filmul, etc.) – maxim 1 pagină;

OPEN CALL FOR FILM DIRECTORS, EDITORS, MAKERS – MUSIC AND MOTION PICTURE

During the project week of 26th to 30th of October, the World Music department of Codarts University for the Arts in Rotterdam will be assigning students to compose music for motion pictures, under the guidance of multi-awarded film composer and clarinetist Alex Simu.

Film directors, editors, and makers are invited to submit one to maximum three original film fragments, with a length of 3 to 5 min. The selected submissions will be assigned to nearly 100 amazing music students, organised in 14 ensembles, who will compose and record original music.
The applicants will have the chance to give feedback, discuss the results with the students, evaluate the music created in line with the artistic vision, or indicate elements that need to be developed.

Deadline for submissions: 25th October 2020

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
The film fragments can be at any stage of production (not necessarily colour graded or picture lock, earlier stages are also welcome).
Documents accompanying the film fragment:

  • Specifications or desires regarding the music. Max. 200 words.
  • Description of the fragment, relation with the entire film. Max. 400 words.

The results will be viewed together with all the participants in a closed-circuit Webinar on Thursday 29th of October.

Dacă te simți încrezător, descurcăreț, entuziast și îți place filmul, te invităm să își dezvolți abilitățile organizatorice alături de noi! Ce trebuie să știi:

● Les Films de Cannes a Bucarest se va ține anul acesta între 23.10 și 1.11 – timp în care trebuie să fii disponibil exclusiv pentru festival
● Suntem în căutare de voluntari și interni – internii vor avea responsabilități mai mari și vor coordona echipele de voluntari
● Rezultatele pre-selecției vor fi anunțate în data de 21.10 – ține telefonul aproape, te vom suna pentru interviu, dacă ești printre cei selectați

ClujShorts International Short-Film Festival

Rules & Regulations

ClujShorts International Short Film Festival is a cultural event that takes place annually in Cluj Napoca, Romania. ClujShorts is an event fully owned and organized by Persona Association and aims at establishing itself as a major international festival, while continuing to act as a platform for showcasing excellent works from around the Globe, and simultaneously contributing to the development and growth of the regional industry and talent.

1. Sections

Official Competition – competitive section containing all genres with the highest scores, as decided by the Festival Selection Committee. Short films must not exceed a length of 20 minutes.

Special Screenings (Out of the Competition) – Eligible are works submitted to the 8th ClujShorts International Short Film Festival, in accordance with festival regulations that were not selected for competition.

2. Submission Guidelines

All selected and announced short-films will we screened during the festival. The highest scoring ones that also meet the criteria, are chosen for the Official Competition.

For entering the competition, films must be completed on or after January 1st, 2019. Films completed prior to this date are eligible for the Official Selection.

Films previously submitted to ClujShorts International Short Film Festival are NOT eligible.

Running time should be under 20 minutes for entering the competition. Longer short films are accepted as part of the official selection, but not longer than 35 minutes. Ending credits should be included in the running time.

Non-English language works must have English subtitles at the time submitted. Non-English entries submitted without subtitles or with subtitles in other language than English are not eligible.

Please do NOT send stills or press kits.  If your film is selected, we will ask you to email us a still image at that time.

Publicity and press materials will not be returned. The additional materials listed above will be sent via e-mail at asociatia.persona.cluj@gmail.com

Works-in-progress will be considered, provided they will be completed prior to the Festival:  While entrants are permitted to submit films that are not fully complete (i.e., without final colour correction and sound mixing), please note that the selection committee will only consider the version submitted; subsequent cuts or replacement copies will only be accepted at the request of the programming committee.

You may enter more than one film, but you must complete a separate entry form and pay entry fee for each film. Only films for which the fee has been paid will be considered.

You will receive a confirmation e-mail after completing the submission form(s).

Entrant confirms, and warrants required legal authority to submit the entry into the Festival and to use all music, images, and content in the entry.

Entrant will allow usage of clips from the film for promotional use on television, radio, internet, in print, and at live Festival events.

All the submitted films must be available in HD format (preferably H264, 1280 x 720p).

All the submitted films must be normalized at -3 dB. Otherwise, they will be hard limited.

3. Deadlines

Submissions open on October 1, 2020.

Entries must be submitted online before November 30, 2020 12:00 AM EET by completing the online Submission Form prior to sending a copy of the film.

Any submission and/or material received after the above deadline will not be accepted.

Submit your film online by providing a secure link with password. You do NOT need to mail us any physical materials.

During submission, films and materials can be sent using a private/preview link. A password (if necessary) will be provided to allow the selection team to view the film(s).

All the selected films (Official Selection) must be sent via on-line transfer until the deadline provided by the organizing team.

All further details/materials requested by the organizers during the selection process must be sent by the date mentioned.

4. Selection and Judging

All entries are pre-screened by the Festival Selection Committee. The selection committee selects the eligible short films for the Official Selection. Short films that did not meet the requirements listed above will be disqualified by the selection committee.

Among the pre-selected films, a number will be selected according to the selection criteria for the Official Competition.

These Official Competition Films are then given to the jury in electronic format.

The jury members will grade individually each short film with a score from 1 to 10, separately for the following categories: script, directing, editing, picture, soundtrack, acting.

The final score will result from the sum of the grades given by all the jury members for each category and for the entire film production.

In case of equal scoring, the organizers will decide if more awards of the same kind may be. Otherwise, it will be considered the note given by the festival’s artistic director, thus establishing the final ranking.

The jury’s decisions, as well as the selection committee’s decisions are final and cannot be disputed.

5. Awards

The following awards can be presented:

ClujShorts Trophy, The Audience Award, Best Student Film, Best Animation, Best Documentary, Best Director, Best Picture, Best Editing, Best Soundtrack, Best Script, The Jury Award, The Press Award, Persona Association Award

All selected short-films (Official Selection) are eligible for: The Audience Award, Persona Association Award, The Press Award.

– The Audience Award will be chosen exclusively by the public. Each viewer will choose the favorite short film by ticking the title of the short film on the voting ticket (ballot). Organizers will centralize all ballots and calculate the percentage number of votes awarded to each short film. The short film with the higher percentage wins.

 The Jury Award decision belongs exclusively to the jury

– The Press Award will be chosen by the committee whose members will be decided by media representatives. The press committee members will view the short film during the festival.

– The Festival organizer reserves the right to offer the Persona Association Award to the short film they consider most eloquent in terms of the issues discussed and the artistic and technical quality

If any category does not meet the standard deemed award worthy by the judging committee, it’s possible that there will be no award announced in that category.

The prizes for each category of the competition will be announced during ClujShorts Awards Gala.

Results will be posted online at http://clujshorts.ro/ and https://www.facebook.com/ClujShorts.

The winners will be contacted to arrange the details regarding the handing of their prizes. The winners are responsible of providing a correct postal address for delivery.

6. Terms and Conditions

The submission fee is 10 Euro for each entry. You can pay the entry fee using any major credit card. Films will not be viewed without payment. All fees are non-refundable.

ClujShorts will not pay for screening fees. All claims of screening fees from the submitter, after the Official Selection is announced, will lead to disqualifying the film/films in question.

ClujShorts is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt from any film submitted and/or accepted for promotional purposes.

The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations.

The undersigned shall indemnify and hold ClujShorts International Short Film Festival harmless from and against all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney’s fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.

All submitted films will not be returned and will be part of the Festival’s artistic heritage. The data provided will not be used for commercial purposes.

The entrants are fully responsible for their film contents and the accompanying data submitted.

Entrant will allow usage of clips from the film for promotional use on television, radio, internet, in print, and at live Festival events. This applies to all initiatives/events linked to ClujShorts International Short Film Festival, before, during and after the Festival.

The organizer reserves the right to modify the content of this Regulation.

JOB SUMMARY

Radio Europa Libera Romania is seeking a skillful, professional level ENG (Field) news camera operator. The camera operator supports a variety of video productions for the RFE/RL target region. The operator works closely with producers and directors in a variety of field and studio productions, and is expected to gather high-quality video content, efficiently and quickly, in challenging environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operates ENG cameras and equipment, including lights and microphones, in the field as well as in TV studios.

• Edits, cuts-down and feeds video material from the field in a timely manner.

• Works closely with the producer/director on shoots to determine the best way to visually cover an event, news story, or program.

• Offers advice on how best to shoot a scene, explaining the visual impact created by particular shots. Cooperates closely with other crew members including sound technicians, lighting experts and talent to determine filming sequences, desired effects, camera movements and lighting requirements.

• Composes and frames shots, monitors light, lenses, filters and camera settings to achieve the effects sought by directors and producers.

• Able to work independently, being responsible for camera, lighting and sound, when filming on location.

• Maintains, cleans and tests news-gathering equipment – cameras, microphones, lights etc. to ensure proper working condition. Prepares equipment prior to filming.

• Troubleshoots in the field to solve technical issues.

• Willing to work flexible hours and travel abroad at short notice.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Specialized Education in audio-visual arts.

• Specialized training in the operation of television broadcasting equipment.

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in broadcast news television as camera operator.

• Experience in live studio production – camera and lighting.

• Ability to communicate with people effectively and work within a team,

• Ability to learn new complex subjects quickly including new technologies,

Candidatul ideal are cunostinte in:

Adobe Premiere Pro / DaVinci Resolve
Adobe After Effects
Experienta in Program 3D este un plus.
Adobe Photoshop si Adobe Illustrator si Adobe Lightroom (este un Plus)
Utilizarea aparatelor din gama Panasonic Lumix si obiective.
Pozitionarea si utilizarea luminilor in studio.

Descrierea jobului


Principala ta RESPONSABILITATE este sa vii la acest job din placere. Doar in acest fel si tu, dar si noi vom avea de castigat! 🙂

Va trebui sa:

Contribui in mod creativ la fiecare proiect in parte
Filmezi si editezi video-uri pentru platformele de social media, website, diferite alte proiecte.
Desfasori proiecte in si inafara studio-uluiIti oferim:Salariu atractiv. Se poate negocia în funcție de volumul de lucru și performanta


– Editarea materialelor video, cu respectarea termenelor limită şi a standardelor de imagine şi de sunet, stabilite potrivit cerinţelor televiziunii HD şi sistemelor de producţie şi comunicate de echipa tehnică;

– Utilizarea arhivei de imagini, astfel încât materialele video să includă suportul de imagine impus de regulile generale de editare

Casting balet

Teatrul Național de Operetă și Musical ION DACIAN organizează LUNI, 2 NOIEMBRIE 2020, ora 11:00, Sala “ Mihaela Atanasiu” – TNOMID CASTING BALET pentru balerini și balerine în vederea colaborării pentru stagiunea 2020-2021.

Dosarul va conține:

  • CV
  • scurt video cu un moment de balet/dans
  • un set de fotografii reprezentative pentru activitatea artistică, în costum de balet.
